Final Picture Of Double Page Spread

This is my final overall picture of my double page spread, overall i am very happy with it, it really stands out threw out the magazine, threw the colours to the picture. I think the background worked very well over with the colour of the font, it really makes the page stand out through out the magazine, I'm very happy with the picture on the page it really gives a image to what the person is actually like, also with the other image i used on the page it gives a in site what the person is like and that he is an actually normal person.

The title stand out alot, and this is what i wanted, I used a quote from the interview which i researched and found out that many double page spread interviews have this, and i wanted to use it too. The colours used again stand out very much and this overall stands out the most, and will make the readers want to read the interview.

I think it was a good idea to have my title of the magazine and the logo on the page,  in a way this is to brand the pages and show that my magazine interview this person, my mine colour is yellow for my magazine, and it does again stand out and show that this is my magazine.

I also used the artists logo on the page this will help the artist attract fans and are magazine will gain more publicity from it.

To conclude, overall i am delighted with my double page spread, it is really want i wanted and it has step me up with for my overall evaluation as i have lots to talk and speak about.

Page Numbering On The Pages

I used page numbering on my double page spread to make it easier for readers to find what page they want, instead of flicking through, I used this font and colour because it stands out and makes it easier for the reader to find. And i placed the number in the bottom corner of the page.

Logo of the DJ Used On The Pages

On my double page spread, i added the logo of the artist i was interviewing. This gives both us as a magazine advertisement, and the artist himself. As my magazine was saying we have a interview with the artist, we wanted to use his logo, so if people see this maybe more people will buy the magazine. And as then the celebrity may get more fans because of the magazine. So it was a good idea to use this in my double page spread.

Line About The Artisit On The Magazine

In my magazine I used this under my title of the page, it gives a little in site into the artist, and really starts the interview. In my research for double page spread nearly all of the other double page spreads had this in the magazine. I thought i had to add this in, as it is a really good  start to the magazine. Again i used a vibrant colour for it, to really stand out. I wanted this to stand out more, so people would read this line before the actually interview its self.

Logo Used On Double Page Spread

On my magazine double page spread, i also used my magazine logo, as in my previous pages, this also makes my pages branded and shows that are magazine interview the celebrity. With research i found out again that other brands do this and thought it was a good idea to add the logo in.

Title Used On The Page

I decided to use the title on my double page spread, this brands the page to my magazine, and after finding out through my research alot of published brands do this as well. I thought it was a good idea to add this in because it shows that my magazine interviewed the celebrity.

Other Pictures Used On The Double Page Spread

On my double page spread, I used an older photo of the artist, i believe this allows the artist to connect to alot more people as they can see him now as a normal person, I think this was a very good idea to add an old photo in, and have more than one photos on the double page spread.

I used the colour red on top of the picture because it will make it stand out to the lime green colour I used for the interview text, this was a good idea i believe because it will again catch peoples eye and make them look at the picture. Again the reason why i choose the vibrant bright colours was to fit in with the theme of the magazine.

Main Picture For Double Page Spread (Final Idea)

I used my front cover picture for double page spread, it went so well with the double page spread and fitted perfectly into the page.

I cropped the background out using PhotoPlus X3, then i put a black background to fit with my background of my spread, this was easy and did not take no time at all, i was very please with my outcome as you can see in the photo.

They outfit I choose him to wear was eye catching, wearing a black coat black jeans and top with a vibrant colour tie to catch the readers eye again also fitting in with the theme of the magazine which i keep referring too. I also have him standing at a angle to make him look stronger and more manly, this i believe came out very well in the photo taken.


Overall I am very happy with my final chosen picture, i do believe this is going to catch peoples eye, as in the magazine I made the picture quite big to fit the page, I believe i made the right decision in picking this photo.

Main Picture For Double Page Spread (Idea)

I was undergoing editing for this for for my double page spread, when i realised it wouldn't fit in how i wanted to. So i stopped editing it on PhotoPage Plus and put my front cover picture in. It worked so much better so i decided to use it on my double page spread.

For my Double Page spread I thought off using another photo other than my front cover, I took some photos but none of them seem to fit with the Double Page Spread. They looked fine but I decided to go against them and use my first photo I took.

I then decided i was going to edit around the picture and add in a black background and as you will see, it worked very well.

Colour of the Interiview (Final)

This is what I finally decide for the colour and font for my interview text:

The Lime Green colour works very well on the black background and this was another reason why i kept my background black, It stands out very well and makes it very easy to read. Also linking the colours back into the the theme of the magazine which is electronic, and with that you associated bright colours so that is what i went for through out my whole magazine. The white text for the questions also stands out as it contrasts to the black background.

After trying out different fonts and colours, I am happy with what I am going to be using for my double  page spread, i do believe that the colour makes the page stand out and will catch peoples eye when flicking through the magazine and this will make people reader the interview, which is want we want.

Font Colour & Font for interview (Ideas 1)

For my interview I was going to need 2 colours and a font for the text on my interview, Firstly I choice white for the interview question and I stuck with this for my final idea as well, it goes well and clearly shows what the interviewer is saying.


Firstly, I choose red as the colour for the interviewee, I have to say it did work well, but I decided against it because I wanted the Interviewee answers to really stand out and I had planned to have other text in red.
I also choose this font, and i stuck with this through out.

Background Colour

For my background I tried alot of different colours, Red, Yellow, Black.


All three colours worked well on the magazine, but the best was the Black, it fitted well and alot of colours for the font can go on the background. I can now use colours like red and yellow to fit in with the theme of the magazine.

Title For Double Page Spread (Final)

After considering all the font options I had I went on line a looked for fonts, I discovered this one from, http://www.cooltext.com/ I liked it because it fit in well with my theme of my magazine, which is electronic/electricity.


This stands out much more than the other fonts i was previously looking at for my double page spread because its a green vibrant colour on a black background. I'm happy with this font and now can continue making the double page spread.

Title For Double Page Spread (Ideas 2)

After considering my first title, I thought it might be abit to plain for my magazine, after then looking for more ideas I looked for another font.


After I for another font I found this one, it is the font I said for my contents page, and i thought it would be good to use the same font, after consideration I found this font hard to read on the black background and i decided not to use this font.

Title For Double Page Spread (Ideas)

I had lots of different ideas for my title, I knew that I was going to use a quote from the interview I was doing, as from my research mostly all the magazines I looked used a quote from the text. Had first I used a red colour for my title, because I already knew I was going use a black background.

Research for double page spread 2

After doing my first research for my double page spread, I then went on to look and compare it to a different syle of double page spread, this one again used a large mid shot picture on one side on the page, compared to the Q magazine one, this one uses a quote from the actually interview on top of the page, to catch peoples eye and make them want to read the full interview, this is a good technique to use and I think i am going to use this for my double page spread.

This research as helped me alot, before i did the research i would not of known how to set up the double page spread, it as given my ideas that i will use when it comes to laying out my spread, the techniques i will use will be similar to a common double page spread, and the ideas i will use will come from mainly my research.

Research for Double Page Spread 1

To create a good double page spread for my magazine, I researched some double page spreads from published magazines, this one is from Q magazine, this gives my good ides for my magazine double page spread, I have decided to do an interview for my double page spread.  The main thing I noticed about double page spreads are the big pictures on one side of the page, and on the other the piece of writing, I think i may use this technique in my double page spread, as it used considerable alot in other pages, this as given me good ideas for my pages, and i will be taking some from this.
